Far from surprising, Arsenal started their Europa League season with three points. Mikel
Arteta’s team faced Rapid Wien away from home and scored twice in the last 20 minutes
of the game for a 2-1 win. The Gunners were a goal behind, but they turned it around with
goals from David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It was a successful first game for
the FA Cup holders.
We believe Arsenal are progressing well under the management of Mikel Arteta, but during
the weekend they recorded their third loss in the Premier League for the season. The
Gunners had to host Leicester City at the Emirates, but they conceded a 0-1 defeat from
the hands of Leicester City with a late goal from Jamie Vardy. Now Arsenal will have the
chance to redeem themselves on the European scene.
Dundalk are a team which rarely qualifies for competitions like this, but this time they
managed to do it. The Irish club had an unsuccessful start of the campaign, though.
In their first match the Irishmen hosted Molde at the Tallaght Stadium and suffered a 1-2
loss in Dublin. Sean Murray actually opened the score for Dundalk, but in the second half
the Norwegian team scored twice and took the three points.
